Short Story of the image
It was a quiet, snowy morning high up in the mountains. The old hunter stood on a cliff, his boots sinking into the fresh snow, his coat button missing but he didn’t seem to care. The cold breeze brushed against his face as he watched a lone wolf moving through the white landscape below. The hunter lifted his rifle, but something made him pause.
The wolf looked back for a second just enough for their eyes to meet. In that brief moment, it felt like both understood each other. They were both creatures of the mountain, used to the silence, the cold, and the challenges that came with every day out here. The hunter took a deep breath, lowered his rifle, and smiled softly to himself.
The snow kept falling, covering the wolf’s tracks as it disappeared into the forest. The hunter turned and began making his way back down the cliff, the snow crunching under his feet. Sometimes, he thought, the mountain didn’t test your aim – it tested your heart. And today, he was happy to walk away, leaving the wolf to its path.
